Location: Crossville, TN (On-site)
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Pay: $60,000 – $90,000 annually (based on experience)
A local leading manufacturer of coaxial RF connectors, adaptors, and cable assemblies is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their growing team in Crossville, TN. This company supports industries such as Aerospace & Defense, Medical, Industrial, and Cryogenics, and is recognized for its precision engineering and commitment to innovation.
About the RoleThis is a full-time, on-site position for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer with RF expertise who is also capable of supporting engineering operations from concept through production. The right candidate will bring both design and practical engineering support experience, combining strong technical ability with creativity and teamwork.You’ll work closely with a small local engineering team while collaborating with additional facilities abroad to deliver innovative, high-quality products.
Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop products using SolidWorks, including components, assemblies, detailed drawings, prototyping, and tooling.
  • Create and maintain part numbers, descriptions, and Bills of Materials (BOMs) within the E-Max ERP System.
  • Provide technical support to sales and manufacturing teams.
  • Conduct research, data analysis, and design validation to support engineering projects.
  • Assist with costing and labor estimation for assemblies and components.
  • Prepare technical documentation, reports, and presentations.
  • Participate in project planning, meetings, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain engineering documentation and databases according to company standards.
  • Support production engineering projects with a focus on continuous improvement and cost efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges throughout product development and production.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, quality, and industry standards.
Qualifications – Required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or higher).
  • Proven experience in RF/Microwave connector design.
  • Advanced proficiency with SolidWorks (or equivalent CAD software).
  • Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, manufacturing processes, and materials.
  • Experience using ERP systems (E-Max or similar) for part management and BOM maintenance.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting projects from concept through production.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to travel between company and customer sites as needed.
Additional Skills – Highly Preferred
  • Experience with 3D printing/additive manufacturing.
  • Previous experience in an engineering support or assistant role, including project coordination, research, and administrative tasks.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Experience in cryogenic component design a plus, but not required.
Schedule & Compensation
  • Monday – Friday | 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
  • Pay range: $60,000 – $90,000 annually, based on experience
