EHS Manager (Environmental, Health, and Safety manager)
The EHS Manager makes sure the plant is a safe place to work and follows all environmental and safety laws. This person creates and runs safety and environmental programs, trains employees, and helps prevent accidents and injuries. They also make sure the facility meets all government safety and environmental requirements.

This person creates and runs safety and environmental programs, trains employees, and helps prevent accidents and injuries. They also make sure the facility meets all government safety and environmental requirements.
Main Job Duties:Health & Safety:
- Create and maintain safety policies that meet OSHA and company standards.
- Check the plant regularly for safety risks and fix any problems.
- Investigate accidents or near-misses and find ways to prevent them in the future.
- Handle employee injury reports and workers’ comp claims.
- Lead safety training for new hires and current employees.
- Make sure programs like Lockout/Tagout, PPE, and forklift safety are followed.
- Keep emergency plans up to date and run practice drills.
- Make sure the company follows environmental laws and regulations (EPA, TDEC, etc.).
- Oversee waste disposal, stormwater, air emissions, and recycling programs.
- Keep required environmental permits, records, and reports updated.
- Work on reducing waste and pollution.
- Help prepare for and respond to inspections or audits.
- Lead regular safety meetings and manage the Safety Committee.
- Encourage all employees to take part in safety efforts.
- Be the main contact for outside safety or environmental inspectors.
- Keep management informed on safety and compliance progress.
- Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or similar field.
- At least 3 years of EHS experience in a manufacturing setting.
- Experience in rubber, chemical, or heavy industry is a plus.
- Must understand OSHA and EPA rules.
- OSHA 30-hour certification
- CSP, CIH, or similar safety credentials
- HAZWOPER or RCRA training
- ISO 14001 knowledge
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Good understanding of safety and environmental rules.
- Able to find problems and fix them effectively.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office.
- Well-organized and pays attention to detail.
- Regularly walking and standing on the plant floor.
- Must wear PPE (safety glasses, ear protection, steel-toed shoes).
- Occasionally lift up to 40 lbs.
- Mostly working on the plant floor (hot, noisy, dusty).
- Some office work for paperwork and reports.
- Occasional travel for meetings or training.
