Job Description
Environmental Safety Coordinator
Schedule: Full-Time | Hours determined by department needs
Pay: $21.50 - $25.00/hour
We're seeking a detail-oriented Environmental Safety Coordinator to support environmental, health, and safety (EHS) initiatives within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role plays a key part in maintaining compliance with environmental regulations, promoting workplace safety, and supporting sustainability efforts throughout the facility. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and passionate about workplace safety and environmental stewardship. They enjoy working collaboratively, have strong attention to detail, and are comfortable balancing administrative responsibilities with hands-on inspections and employee engagement.
Responsibilities:
-Assist with maintaining environmental permits, compliance records, and documentation.
-Perform routine inspections of air, water, waste, and facility safety systems.
-Support hazardous and non-hazardous waste management, including proper labeling, storage, and disposal.
-Monitor dust collection and wastewater systems to ensure environmental compliance.
-Assist with preparing environmental reports and regulatory documentation.
-Conduct workplace safety inspections and identify potential hazards.
-Maintain chemical inventories and Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
-Support safety committee initiatives and employee awareness programs.
-Participate in incident investigations and document findings.
-Coordinate training logistics, including scheduling, attendance records, and training materials.
-Maintain organized records of inspections, corrective actions, and compliance activities.
-Track environmental and safety performance metrics.
-Assist with emergency preparedness activities, drills, and response supply management.
-Provide administrative support for sustainability and continuous improvement projects.
Requirements:
-Associate's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, or a related field preferred (high school diploma with relevant experience will be considered).
-1-3 years of experience in manufacturing, industrial safety, environmental compliance, or a related field.
-Knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations is a plus.
-Previous experience supporting Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) programs preferred.
-Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
-Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
-Ability to maintain accurate records and manage multiple priorities.
-Willingness to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to varying conditions.
-Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening.
