Job Description
We are seeking a dependable and hands-on HR Generalist to support a local manufacturing facility. This role provides day-to-day HR support to both hourly and salaried employees, ensuring compliance with labor laws and helping to maintain a productive and safe work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as a primary contact for employee relations, handling issues promptly and professionally.
- Manage full-cycle recruiting and onboarding for plant and support roles.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws (FMLA, OSHA, EEO, FLSA).
- Partner with supervisors and managers on performance, attendance, and discipline.
- Maintain accurate employee records and update HRIS systems accordingly.
- Support and coordinate payroll and timekeeping processes.
- Schedule and track required safety and compliance training.
- Assist in audits and reporting related to safety, workers’ comp, and HR compliance.
- Promote employee retention and morale through practical, business-focused HR support.
- Participate in incident investigations and corrective action processes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- At least 2 years of HR experience is required.
- Solid understanding of HR laws and regulations.
- Comfortable working in a plant environment and interacting regularly with the operations team.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and HR systems (e.g., ADP, Kronos, SAP).
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
- HR Certification (PHR, SHRM-CP) preferred.
