Job Description

Junior Automation TechnicianFull-time; on-call rotation required for nights and weekends and needed
A local manufacturing facility in Crossville is seeking a junior automation technician to support and improve automated systems in a fast-paced production environment. This is a great opportunity to grow your automation skills while working alongside experienced engineers and technicians.
Responsibilities

Assist with designing, programming, building, and troubleshooting automation and control systems (PLCs, HMIs, motion controls, sensors, and drives)
Support system integration, testing, and debugging to ensure reliable operation
Troubleshoot and repair equipment and electrical systems throughout the facility
Maintain and update control system documentation, manuals, and work instructions
Assist with project planning, progress tracking, and communication
Support preventative maintenance efforts to improve equipment reliability
Follow all safety codes, standards, and regulations
Participate in an on-call rotation for automation-related issues
Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements

Associate's degree in controls engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field
Minimum of 2 years of automation experience in a manufacturing environment
Working knowledge of PLC/HMI programming (Siemens, Omron, Ignition preferred)
Familiarity with configuring drives (Siemens and Omron preferred)
Ability to wear required PPE, including steel toe footwear
Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening
